Vágrbrotnar

As the Skaar themselves, their weapons are practical, simple but highly effective and sport a nasty edge. The typical tribalwarrior fields his shield and spear or sword, often even both. Although axes are also widely used and the sword is the undisputable king among the implements of killing the northerners use, the spear holds a special place in the heart of many skaarwarrior. The damage even relatively untrained troops can do when armed with these long reaching weapons is considerable, but it is outright dazzling to see the mayhem caused by a veteran skilled in the way of the spear.
It is awe inspiring when a solitary figure steps from a shieldwall to plow into the enemies charge, spear whirling, stabbing and slashing in all directions at once. Many attack has been brought low by a master of this path, and with good reason they call themselves Vágrbrotnar, Wavebreaker.

Used with Coordination + Weapon: Spear.
These techniques only work if the warrior is holding a spear (typicaly a Skaar Atgeirr) in one hand.
Heavy Spears used with the onehanded techniques do reduced damage: Width+1 killing.

Rammligr Valtæigr (1 Point):
With Strong Arm you can use an Atgeirr (heavy spear) one-handed. Strong Arm combines with all the other techniques in the path.

Flein-Drifa (2 Points)
The Wavebreaker may throw his Atgeirr at a nearby target. He rolls his Spear-pool and does the standard weapon damage, at a range as other thrown weapons.
After the spear-throw, he may immediately draw a backup-weapon without any penalty.
The Spear-Throw may be combined with other actions.

Við-Darraðr (3 Points)
The benefits the use of “Impaler“ grant, depend on how the spear is wielded.
Onehanded: the wavebreaker may attack with his spear through hexes containing opposing figures. The width of the attacking set is reduced by -1 for timing. May be part of a multiple action.
Twohanded: the wavebreaker rolls his normal attackpool. If the initial target dies, a morale attack is triggered with a strength equal to his Intimidateskill. May not be part of a multiple action.

Hrafnasueltir (4 Points)
The benefits the use of Raven-Starver grant, depend on how the spear is wielded.
Moving through the complex twirling patterns of this technique wielding the spear in one hand, let the Wavebreaker use the Redirect maneuver with his Spear-pool instead of Dodge.
The onehanded technique may be combined with other actions.
Using the twirling, defensive patterns with the spear twohanded, and when the Wavebreaker only parries with his spear during a round, he may use his Spear-pool instead of Parry.
The twohanded technique can't be combined with actions other than parry.

Bariðr inn Ósterkligr (5 Points)
The benefits the use of Smite the Weak grant, depend on how the spear is wielded.
Stabbing a recoiling opponent with the spear in one hand, let the Wavebreaker attack a Downed target at +1Width.
The onehanded technique can be combined with other actions.
With the spear in both his hands, the wavebreaker may perform a special maneuver called Sweeping Blow:
instead of a penalty for multiple actions, you roll your Spearpool at +1d and can use every set that turns up as an attack. Sweeping Blow reduces the reach of the spear to adjecent hexes only, and all hits do reduced damage: Width Shock.Every opponent in the Hexes surrounding the Wavebreaker must be attacked with an attack-set once, before one of them can be attacked a second time. The twohanded technique can’t be combined with other Actions except Free Movement. During a Sweeping Blow, the free movement is reduced by one hex but can be used immediately after any resolved attack set.
